Selection of the Head of the Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant

The State Enterprise Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant, after the final shutdown of the first reactor in 2004 and the second reactor in 2009, carries out the decommissioning of the Ignalina NPP, which includes the operation of the necessary systems of the NPP to ensure nuclear, radiation, fire and physical safety, the unloading of the spent nuclear fuel from the power units and transportation to the interim spent nuclear fuel storage facility, the decontamination and dismantling of the equipment and buildings, and the treatment and storage of radioactive waste. The decommissioning of the IAE is scheduled to be completed in 2038.
