Increasingly, managers are choosing two careers rather than one, often in search of meaning and out of a desire to share their expertise.
As Laura Duksaitė-Iškauskienė told VŽ, managers want to complement their careers with broader responsibilities and contribute to the success of state-owned enterprises. Experienced managers also choose to teach at universities and engage in mentoring.
📌 It is true that shareholders are sceptical about the additional activities of managers. They take the view that you can only work for one company and are not in favour of executives wanting to be independent board members in other organisations.
