ISM Leaders’ Club to discuss managerial careers
A managerial career – once you’ve climbed to the top, is there more to climb?
This was the topic of discussion at the ISM University of Management and Economics alumni leadership platform #LAB4Leaders event.
A few insights from Laura Duksaitė-Iškauskienė’s speech:
- The main forges for top managers in Lithuania are service and FMCG companies.
- The two main expectations that managers have when they come to job search agencies are to work for a foreign-owned company or for a fast-growing Lithuanian export company.
- As many as 75% of Lithuanian companies are owned by their shareholders
- Many people want to run large companies, but you’re much more likely to work in a medium-sized company
- Mature organisations that have been on the market for a long time are able to develop and grow their own managers, while fast-growing organisations and start-ups do not have the luxury of 10 years of growth – they have to look externally.
- As for the CFOs, we have the Big Four companies where they are emerging and their expertise is high.
- There are still too few women on boards because there are few women in CEO positions and fewer women running for board positions.
Thank you, ISM, for bringing alumni together.
