What are the current trends in the executive labour market? Yesterday we talked about this at the Master Class Lithuania and NOOR event. Here are some highlights from Laura Duksaitė-Iškauskienė’s report:

✳️ There have never been as many people working in the market as now. Nearly 1.5 million people are employed. The number of foreigners is growing accordingly. Both among skilled workers and in management. We currently have over 200,000. foreigners working in Lithuania.

✳️ A second career in management. In executive careers, there is a clear trend towards a second career as a board member. Competition is fierce: the number of candidates for a manager’s seat and a board member’s seat can be as much as 4 times higher. But it still doesn’t cool the appetite to join the boards.

✳️ An important aspect is that from 2026. A mandatory requirement for listed companies to have an equal number of men and women on their boards, as well as stricter regulation of equal pay. Meanwhile, women’s salaries are still not catching up with those of male managers.

✳️ Professionals are becoming more entrepreneurial. There is a growing trend towards more self-employment and a decline in the number of salaried professionals. More and more professionals are choosing to work with several companies by providing them with services rather than hiring them.

A great event, where Elena Leontjeva, Vytautas Siaurusaitis, Inga Pališkienė, Artūras Tukleris, Laura Ziaubrienė, Ilona Lekavičiūtė, Marius Rindinas also shared their insights .
