They make employers hold their heads: generation Z
How to attract the smart individualists, otherwise known as Generation Z? Why does this pose many challenges for today's employers, and how can we address them?
Laura Duksaitė-Iškauskienė, partner of Master Class Lietuva, Saulius Alksnevičius, co-founder and developer of the career mentoring platform idialogue, and Viktorija Janavičiūtė, HR Manager at Kesko Senukai Digital, discussed this topic at the Login 2017 conference. The discussion was moderated by Virginija Pipirė, HR Manager at Mokilizingas.
Before the discussion began, the moderator V. Pipirė asked the audience the question: how old is the oldest member of Generation Z? There were various guesses in the audience – eighteen, nineteen years. “Twenty-one”, Pipirė clarified, stressing that these are young people who will soon enter the labour market. “If you type into Google who this generation is, you will see a lot of catchy headlines: the narcissist generation, the lazy generation, the generation that wants to earn a lot of money but doesn’t want to work much. What is it like?” – she asked the panellists.
