Selection of the Director General of Lithuanian Railways

“Lietuvos geležinkeliai (LTG) announces the selection of its CEO. The main tasks of the future CEO will include further diversification of LTG Group companies’ activities, search for new business opportunities and efficiency improvement.
“The LTG Group’s main challenge is to accelerate diversification and the related structural changes and digitalisation. We are analysing and assessing in detail the impact of the Russian government’s war against Ukraine, but it is already clear that the situation requires an even faster pace of change. Today, it is crucial to react quickly, to adapt effectively to the changing business environment and to chart a clear course for the future. We hope that the future leader of the company will continue to mobilise the team for important work and make a significant contribution to the development of railways – the most sustainable mode of transport in Lithuania”, says Kęstutis Šliužas, Chairman of the Board of LTG.
The LTG CEO is appointed by the LTG Board. The executive search experts Master Class Lietuva will assist in selecting the most suitable candidates. This company has been selected as the selection partner through a public procurement process. The newly appointed LTG CEO is tentatively expected to start work in the second half of the summer. The exact timing of the new CEO’s joining the team will also depend on the commitments he/she will have to complete before taking up his/her new position. As of 4 January this year. LTG is temporarily headed by Egidijus Lazauskas, who previously held the position of Managing Director of LTG Cargo.
