Selection of candidates for the post of Director of AB DETONAS

The ambition of Detonas, a joint stock company engaged in the production of explosives, blasting, drilling and demolition of structures, is to combine its long-standing experience with modern technologies, to increase its production volumes and to broaden its areas of activity.

The organisation invites a strategically minded company director to join the company, interested in continuity and business development, expanding the company’s activities into the defence industry.

A vacancy is announced for the position of Director of Detonas AB (the “Company”).

The Chief Executive Officer is elected for a term of 5 (five) years.

The Chief Executive of the Company will have a fixed-term employment contract.

Key responsibilities:

    • To organise the smooth running of the company’s operations and ensure business continuity;
    • Increase the volume of basic services and improve efficiency through the introduction and improvement of blasting technologies;
    • Ensure the profitable operation of the company and the achievement of its strategic goals and expectations;
    • Increase the company’s competitiveness and expand its activities, including expansion into export markets;
    • Diversify activities by developing projects for the manufacture and sale of explosives and/or related components;
    • Implement key good governance practices;
    • Contribute to the development of the company’s strategy, business plan and the design of a new explosives plant.

 

Qualification requirements:

  1. General requirements:

1.1. At least 5 years of successful experience at a senior management level (Director, Managing Director, Head of Unit);

1.2. University degree or equivalent;

1.3. Good knowledge of English;

1.4. Strategic thinking, professionalism, results orientation;

1.5. An impeccable reputation;

1.6. not have been removed from a single-person or collegiate body of a legal person for misconduct in the last five (5) years;

1.7. The right to hold the office of director or member of the management body of an undertaking and to perform the functions attached to that office must not be deprived or restricted in accordance with the procedures laid down by law;

1.8. The candidate’s previous activities have not led to a decision of a supervisory authority or a court finding an infringement of professional conduct, withdrawal of a licence, etc.;

1.9. Must be free from any relationship with other natural or legal persons which might give rise to a conflict of interests in the performance of his/her duties;

1.10. The circumstances provided for in Article 17 of the Law on the Protection of Objects Important for the National Security of the Republic of Lithuania must not exist.

 

2. Specific requirements:

2.1. Knowledge of corporate financial management;

2.2. Experience of managing a manufacturing company / experience of modernising production;

2.3. Investment project management experience;

2.4. Excellent leadership, team-building and stakeholder engagement skills;

 

3. The following qualities will be considered as strengths in the assessment of candidates:

3.1. Experience in strategic corporate planning, sustainable corporate value creation is an advantage;

3.2. Knowledge of corporate governance, experience of working with boards of directors and supervisory boards is an advantage.

 

The company offers:

    • The opportunity to work for a strategic company in Lithuania, to participate in the implementation of innovative projects;
    • Salary: from EUR 6000-7500 gross per month;
    • An annual variable remuneration based on the company’s performance (up to 30% of annual salary);
    • Possible additional annual bonus based on individual performance (up to 2 salary levels).

Selection procedure:

Selection method – After an assessment of the documents submitted by the candidates, the shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The final decision on the election of the Director will be taken by the Board of Directors of Detonas AB.
