On-screen job interviews
Today Master Class Lithuania would like to share with you a few tips to help you conduct job interviews more efficiently on your computer screen.
✔Close unnecessary applications on your computer – applications and files opened during the call, and especially those being sent, can affect the quality of the video;
✔Maintaining communication – try to be more specific in your answers, wait for the interviewer to stop talking or signal that you have something to add;
✔Eye contact – it is recommended that you cover your own image in order to better focus on the person on the other side of the screen;
✔It is recommended to hold the camera slightly above eye level, slightly tilted downwards;
✔Energy levels during video interviews may seem lower than normal – it is recommended that you maintain your normal gesticulation during live interviews;
✔Avoid white, black, and especially bright and patterned clothes when choosing clothing. Clothes in soft shades are a good choice.
✔Care about the surroundings – it’s best to keep it neutral, so a simple wall, bookshelf or curtain is a good option;
✔Keep at least half a metre away from objects behind you;
✔Check your camera and microphone settings – make a test call before the interview starts.
