2025-07-16

From 1 August, Jurga Varanavičė, a communications professional, will take over the position of Head of the Lithuanian Marketing Association (LiMA). The selection process was carried out by the executive search agency Master Class Lietuva.

From 1 August, Jurga Varanavičė, a communications professional, will take over the position of the head of the Lithuanian Marketing Association(LiMA), which has been operating for 20 years and has more than 1,300 members. Alvydė Palaimaitė has been the head of the association for the past 8 years.

Equality and sustainability activist

J. Varanavičė has developed equal opportunities projects “Go Forward!”, created a distance learning platform “Go Forward Academy”, organised international conferences on various leadership, management and sustainability topics. She has consulted businesses and public sector organisations on strategic and political communication issues, written and published the books “Leaders” and “Football Heroes”, and has hosted radio and television programmes.

“I admire Jurga and her achievements, and I can see how she will be a great fit for further strengthening LiMA. This year LiMA celebrates its 20th birthday, which marks a huge transformation of the organisation: the LiMA online platform is being renewed, services are being digitised, member engagement and representation is being further strengthened, and a strong team is needed to implement LiMA’s strategic activities”, says A. Palaimaitė.

Transferring training experience to digitalise services

“Alvydė has consistently grown and strengthened LiMA, so we have a big challenge and responsibility ahead of us to continue to mobilise the marketing community and raise the profile of Lithuanian professionals in international waters”, says J. Varanavičė, the new LiMA Manager.

She intends to use her experience in training to develop and digitalise the next generation of services needed by both aspiring marketers and professionals seeking international certifications, as well as by marketing and business managers.

Two more professional women join

Rūta Mecelicaitė-Panavė, Head of Partnerships and Activities, will also join the LiMA team from 15 July. She has experience in organising business events and conferences and has worked for Invest Lithuania.

The LiMA team will also be joined by Elena Beinaravičienė, Head of Development and Digitalisation, who has experience in both the NGO and business environment. She spent six years in Italy working on the board of an international network of youth associations, representing the interests of young people in the European institutions. After returning to Lithuania, she managed the second season of the Women Go Tech mentoring programme and later worked at Turing College, where she was responsible for community building initiatives.

The quality of the candidates shows LiMA’s leadership

“Receiving applications from such a high calibre of professionals confirms LiMA’s market leadership. We are glad that the newly formed team will help the association to continue its strategic growth,” says Laura Duksaitė-Iškauskienė, Director of Master Class Lietuva, the agency that conducted the selection process.

LiMA unites more than 1,300 marketing and related professionals and managers, with chapters in four major Lithuanian cities – Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and Šiauliai. The Association is a member of the European Marketing Confederation (EMC) and the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA), represents the interests of the marketing field in Lithuanian governmental institutions and the education sector, cooperates with other organisations and carries out the international certification of marketing professionals and managers.
